Ev & Wes: 9 Month Recap

Look at those faces!! Don't you just want to squeeze those cheeks?! I mean, with smiles like those it's hard to not fall in love with them. Especially since they just keep packin' on the personality on a daily basis.

Ev has really broken out of her shell this month and is starting to get more adventurous. Instead of sitting in the tub like a sweet, good girl she now stands and knocks stuff over with Godzilla (yes, that's her walking on the wild side). Her absolute favorite thing is neck kisses and they are guaranteed to make her giggle uncontrollably, especially when Tenley gives them to her. She learned three words this month: Mama, Baba (she says that when she wants to nurse) and Dada. She talks in such a quiet and sweet voice- it's the best! Her favorite toys are her Walker and Sofie the Giraffe, but usually we always find her gnawing on a book or some sort of cardboard. She is also a big fan or the TV remotes and video monitors. She loves to smack her fingers on her mouth to make an Indian noise (you know, that noise you made as a kid?). She has been teething for what seems like forever, but still only has 2 teeth. She officially takes forever to get teeth. In the meantime, I'm loving her sweet two-toothed grin!

Weight:  18 lbs 8 oz (Birth: 7 lbs 15 oz)

Diaper Size: 4

This boy is such a ham! He is always smiling and just melting my heart. His latest trick is mimicking everything he sees, especially everything his big sister does. I could totally see her getting him in trouble with that in the future. He's got the most contagious laugh and loudest voice. He has begun to talk this month and now says Mama and Dada. He makes his presence known by screaming at the top of his lungs non-stop, just like Tenley used to do all the time. His favorite toys are Tenley's Minnie Mouse Car and soft grocery bag with rattle veggies. Although he is a total Momma's boy, he is so sweet on his Daddy, too. When Ed gets home from work he instantly starts crying until Ed picks him up. He is such a big ball of love.

Both babes have lost weight this month due to moving around so much. They crawl around on all fours so fast that it's scary. They can stand up on any object and walk around it and move from object to object. All that movement requires a lot of calories so they have been nursing so much, especially at night. We've been trying to get the babes to eat solids since they were 6 months old, but they just haven't been into it; however this month we've had quite the breakthrough. By breakthrough I mean they are eating more than two spoonfuls, but both of them still can't finish a jar together. One thing that they really enjoy are puffs, but what baby doesn't? Either way, we're getting there and I'm looking forward to them getting into food more in hopes that they'll sleep better.

Speaking of sleeping, this has been an absolutely sleepless month. Wes has been his usual great napping self and Ev her usual cat-napping self, but now they've both turned on me at night. They've been ending up in our bed a lot, then Ed and I look like we're playing musical chairs every time I need to feed a baby. It's funny, but not really. I try to keep them out of our bed as much as possible because it's so hard, especially after Ed has gone to work, to make sure they're barricaded well enough. Plus, when Wes is in bed with me he tends to think it's an all you can eat buffet and I get no sleep whatsoever. I remember feeling sleep deprived when Tenley was a baby; which seems like such a treat compared to my nights now. Even though it's rough, my body seems to be getting used to it. Fingers crossed whatever they are going through doesn't last much longer!

Another major milestone that they've both accomplished this month is that they can both stand on their own for a few seconds! Sometimes they'll start to fall over and other times they'll lower themselves to the floor. They get so excited when they see how excited you get, too. Whenever we clap and cheer them on they go nuts. It's the cutest thing ever. These two are going to be early walkers, just like their big sister!

As their Mommy, this past 9 months has gone by in the blink of an eye. It has truly been a total daze. When I was carrying these munchkins in my belly everyone warned me to take as many pictures as possible because the first year with twins flys by and it's so true. It's so hard for me to believe that in just three short months these beautiful babes will be one. TODDLERS. I'm not ready for that. I just want them to need me and be my little babies forever, but we are having so much fun growing as a family and it's going to get very interesting around here in the next few months!

Happy 9 month birthday, Everly and Wesley!!
