Weekly Update

WARNING: I apologize if you find it offensive to call children assholes, but ya know what they can be assholes at times. So yeah, sorry not sorry!

Remember how Ev was throwing up last week? Well, she slept with me all night and was fine. That is until Wes woke up. When Wes wakes up he goes to the door and cries until I come to get him. So obviously, in my rush to got get him so he didn't wake Ev she woke up and instantly started throwing up on my pillow. Just my luck! I felt so bad for the girl, though. I've never seen her miserable like this:

I couldn't keep Ev up if I tried, nor did I want to. Poor gal fell asleep on the couch a little bit before I needed to take Tenley to school. There was no way I was going to wake her and risk her throwing up in the car during drop-off. Luckily, Lyndsey is an amazing friend and without hesitation came to pick Tenley up for school. Tenley was in heaven since she got to go to school with her bestie and I was so glad Evie got to sleep this nasty bug off while I began to tackle the 9 loads of laundry I needed to do:

Tenley was all jazzed up about her car rides with Addy. She could care less about telling me that they learned about the letter 'Y':

(Thanks so much, Lynds! You are such a lifesaver!)

After a few hours without drinking or eating anything, Ev finally sipped a few teaspoons of water and fell asleep halfway through her apple pouch:

Ev napped the rest of the afternoon on the couch while Wes napped in my bed. Tenley and I kept quiet with lots of coloring and my sweet girl was so proud of her newest masterpieces:

(How big does she look here?! I can't handle it.)

Pearl sleeps ALL day nowadays and Tenley loves to wake her up and give her lovins:

After a busy day of swimming in vomit, I drowned myself in sweat at Pure Barre. It was just what I needed after the day I had:

Ev woke up feelin' like a new woman Tuesday morning. Since we couldn't be around any other kids yet, we played in the backyard and the kids loved getting the fresh air:

Tenley forced the twins to dress up and they looked so stinking cute:

(Wes is like, "you eyein' my badge, sis?")

Wednesday morning is when my week turned to shit. Technically everyones week because everyone suffered from Ev's actions. Wednesday morning Ev was triggered into a fit when I told her she couldn't use my laptop as a toy. That is when the can of worms began to open:

Ev finally calmed down after throwing herself and her nightgown on the floor and insisted on drinking a ginormous gatorade; which wasn't allowed to be in a sippy, a cup or anything else other than the big ass gatorade:

I had to get out of the house because I couldn't stand to be home with Ev screaming. To keep her happy, we went to Boulder City and roamed around some antique shops:

Then we went to Hemenway Park to burn off some steam. I love this park because it has a smaller play area so I can keep my eyes on both of them. They enjoyed playing in the grass, collecting sticks and splashing in puddles:

(Seriously, how great is the view here??)

In addition to learning all about the letter 'Y', Tenley learned about birds at school on Wednesday:

After lunch, Wes passed out in my bed and Tenley's lame YouTube videos put Evie to sleep:

Linds and I couldn't get the basketball team to focus Wednesday evening. The kids were too hot to do anything. Tenley just complained about it being too sunny the entire time:

Wes woke up missing Pop Pop Thursday morning:

He cheered up when I told him we were going to see his bud Cam or 'Ham' as he calls him:

The kids had such a blast at the GVR splash pad with Addy and Cam. The splash pad is surrounded my couches so Lynds and I loved being able to sit back and watch the kids squeal with excitement:

The kids and I did some shopping afterwards and Tenley loved Janie and Jack's newest line with flamingos:

The twins were so pooped that they both fell asleep in my bed:

Tenley's basketball team had pictures Thursday night and they were so cute and smiley that I can't wait to get them back:

Friday...Friday, you started off so good to me, then quickly knocked me on my ass. While getting the kids ready, Ev spotted my EOS chapsticks. In an attempt to make myself presentable, I gave Ev and Wes my two chapaticks and they were so happy:

Once Ev began eating the chapstick, I took them from both kids and she was not happy. If she wants something, she will get it and it doesn't matter what she's gotta do to get it. She will scream, cry, hit and worst of all- bang her head on anything and everything. She is so quick, too. If she decided she's going to bang her head on the floor, she'll run from you so you just think she's going to cry in a corner like a normal child, but no. She runs away from you, throws herself down and bangs her head so fast. I've never dealt with this before and I think it's so bizarre. I just don't know how to deal with it. I can't even put her in timeout because she'll just bang her head on the door and I can't just give her what she wants because she'll think that behavior is acceptable. During my frustration, I went outside and threw the chapstick into the wash behind our house. To get her to snap out of it, I splashed water in her face. It was like I flipped a switch and she was in happy-mode now. After dropping Tenley off at school, I took the kids to the park because there was no way I was going home with them. The fresh air did Ev good and she had a lot of fun playing with Wes:

(You see that boy in the background? He dominates the playground nowadays!)

Wes is the sweetest boy and always worries about his little sister. He is always close by her shouting, "CAREFUL! DANGOUS!" It melted my heart when he was shouting that at Ev and reaching his hand out to help her up the ladder:

They loved collecting flowers and sticks in the grass, but the thing that really caught their eyes was this hummingbird that was letting them get so close as it hovered in the grass:

When we picked up Tenley we told her all about the hummingbird we played with and she told us all about the birdies she learned about:

After our great park adventure, I thought we were in the clear, but as soon as we got home Ev began looking for the chapstick and would not stop screaming. I had to do so many things to get her to calm down. Luckily, the YouTube videos were successful at boring her to sleep, again:

When Ed got home, I ran to Pure Barre. Then, I ruined all the hard work I did by destroying my body with cookies and wine after:
(Well deserved, right?!)

Ev didn't waste any time and was at it bright and early on Saturday. The show had to go on because Tenley had a basketball game at 8:45am. It felt like we were zombies just going through the motions. We made it to the game and everyone behaved while we were there. Tenley didn't want to play, but slowly eased into it. Ed was telling me how he thinks Tenley hates it and doesn't want to do it, then she started to get into it. She was flipping her hair around less and getting really excited anytime she got the ball. She really made us proud when she started waving her hands and yelling, "I'm open, I'm open!" I guess she might just need to wake up a bit because when she gets into it she has a lot of fun:

(I LOVE this picture! When Tenley was cheering because she shot the ball, Jacob's dad said to me, "I think you need to get that girl into cheerleading!" HAHA!)

("I'm open, I'm open!")

In our typical chaotic fashion, we headed to dance after basketball. I loved hearing Tenley tell Ms. Cherity all about her basketball game before they started dancing:

After some screaming (from Ev, of course) the twins passed out together:

Unfortunately the long nap did nothing for Ev's attitude:

Sunday started off with a bang, too. We had to force Ev to sit in her seat as we drove to the splash pad. Poor girl, right? Going to the park and splash pad everyday is really rough. So rough that it make her foam at the mouth like a rabbid dog:

As soon as we got out of the car she snapped out of it (I'm starting to think she despises our house) and decided to embrace the fun. The kids had a blast with Isla and Sailor, while poor Lindsay listened to us vent about how big of a asshole Ev was being at home:

My bipolar babe was as happy as could be on the way home:

Then we walked in the door and she insisted on ripping off her clothes, throwing things and napping naked on the floor. When she woke up we went through about 5 apples until we gave it to her the "correct" way:

After her apple, I rubbed maleluca on her gums 'cause why not, right? It seemed to help because we caught some rare smiles while at home:

I just want to say, THIS WEEK FREAKING SUCKED! So next time you're thinking, "your kids are perfect!", "they live a perfect life!" or "but you seem so happy!" Just remember that in between all the cute photos can be a kid banging their head on the floor or a mother on the floor crying. Kids are assholes sometimes, but it's much more acceptable to brag and take pictures when they're smiling and lovin' life. So to all you mommies reading this, I'm with ya! HANG IN THERE!!

Until next time! :)
