Weekly Update

Ed flew to Austin, Texas Monday morning for his company's Mechanical Conference. We were sad to have him go and I was a nervous wreck with all the explosions going off around Austin. Since he was gone, I wasn't teaching for a few days. I was really looking forward to having a free mind so I could pour my all into the kids. After dropping Tenley off at school, the littles and I went for a little hike. Ev was so excited and ran the entire time! Wes walked slowly and cautiously, of course, and kept yelling "I believe I can!" I couldn't help but sing R. Kelly's 'I Believe I Can Fly' the entire time. It was such a fun little hike and we followed it up with some frisby at the park:

While we sent Daddy pics of our adventures, he texted back with pics of the middle of nowhere retreat that he was at. The donkey that he was hanging out with totally made us jelly:

Ev rested with me and helped with some work:

The kids really missed Daddy Tuesday morning and Wes made me send Daddy a pic of him in his new hockey pants-- he's so cool:

Pearl got groomed Tuesday morning and looked so cute after:

We left for 'Learn To Skate' and hour and 10 minutes ahead of class and made it early for once! I was really patting myself on the back, believe me. The kids always ask to go see the Golden Knights truck, but we never have time. Since we were early we ventured over to check it out:

Wes was jazzed about his new pants that un-zip over his skates and had to show Daddy:

He did really good in class... must've been the pants:

While Ed was away I finally taught the twins to shower. That's right... no more sitting in dirty bath water! Ev loves it and is so good at giving herself a shower. She was so proud of dressing herself that she even dressed her baby doll in matching jammies:

Cassi offered to take the kids for a snack while I took class Wednesday morning. I was missing the barre so much and quickly agreed. Ev loves coming to the studio and helping clients put their equipment away. Plus, it typically means donuts for them:

(Thanks, Cassi!!)

While doing homework with Tenley Wednesday afternoon, the kids stole my snack-- black bean chips and salsa. Totally surprised me that they'd like it because it's good for you, but they devoured it:

It was raining Thursday morning so I got to walk Tenley to her class. I haven't been able to volunteer for 3 weeks due to Tenley being sick, then me being sick, then an appointment. I miss the kids and miss seeing the student's work. I saw Tenley's 'How To Blow A Bubble' in the hall and thought it was adorable:

Wes helped me get everyone's bedtime snack together:

Tenley gave me this note at drop-off Friday morning and I knew it was going to be a great day:

Pearl tried drinking my afternoon coffee and may or may not have gotten some:

Tenley's teacher sent a picture of the kids Friday afternoon. They read the book 'Easter Bunny's Assistant', made hats and dyed eggs. I just love her class:

She brought home her egg and level 10 certificate for Lexia:

I taught Empower at 7:15am Saturday morning; which just so happened to be Debbie's 100th class. Such a great way to start the day:

I've been covering shifts Saturday mornings and missing the girls cheer and dance. It kills me, but I knew it was only temporary. This week I got to take the girls to their classes and watch the entire class- it made my heart so happy to see them both thriving in their classes:

The girls worked up an appetite and shared some grapes after class:

We had a relaxing afternoon watching the Golden Knights play:

That evening we took the kids to see 'Shelock Gnomes'. It was so cute; definitely a must see:

I worked out early Sunday morning and found this when I came home; which made me laugh. I love that Tenley wrote, "Prl and we want a nuther one." Take the hint, Ed:

We took the kids to public skate at CNA Sunday afternoon. Wes got his first pair of skates and a new bag for all of his gear. He loves the Golden Knights and although the bag is bigger than him he couldn't have been happier:

The kids were so excited to skate! Wes' blades were so sharp that it was like he had to learn to skate again and was falling non-stop. Poor guy had to use a cone, but slowly wore them in a bit. They were all skating so well after over an hour on the ice:

On the drive home Wes was getting a kick out of us passing cars and kept saying, "haha sucka!" We thought it was hilarious, but Mom a.k.a. Tenley didn't appreciate us encouraging that bad behavior:

Until next time! :)
