1 Month Old

Happy 1 Month Birthday, Tenley!

I can't believe my squishy cheeked daughter is 1 month old already...

Baby love is growing way too fast for my liking. I savor every moment with her and kiss her cheeks like there is no tomorrow. I love her and don't know what Ed and I ever did without her in our lives. I love that my day consists of feedings, spit up, baby hiccups, poopy diapers and several wardrobe changes!

Tenley is now over 12 pounds of pure chunky lovin'. She is smiling more and more everyday and loves the sound of her voice. She's holding up her head, moving her head back and forth and trying to roll on her side. She has loads of nicknames, such as: Tenley Bear, Teddy, T, Chunky Monk, Pumpkin Pie, etc. Watching her grow is truly the highlight of my life and I can't get enough of her. Although it is sad to see her grow so quickly, I am excited to see what our future holds with her.

A Thanksgiving Full of Thanks

Everyone that knows me knows my favorite holiday - Thanksgiving.

I was especially looking forward to Thanksgiving this year because this would be our first year celebrating Thanksgiving as a family.

I am extremely blessed and thankful for my healthy, beautiful, sweet, squishy cheeked daughter who has truly enriched my life and given me meaning. She means the world to me and I don't know what I would do without her chubby, kissable cheeks and dimply butt. When she looks at me with her big blue eyes I know I have succeeded in life. She's perfect and all mine... forever.
I love my lil' turkey.

I have also been blessed with thee greatest hubman and father to my sweet baby girl. Not only does he love her, but he loves to take care of her. He loves bath time, rocking her, doing tummy time and even changing her extremely stinky poopy diapers. He's amazing with her and still makes me feel special, too. He constantly compliments me and makes me feel beautiful, even with sweats on and spit up in my hair.
I just love him to pieces.

I was also looking forward to Thanksgiving dinner at Terri's this year. Don't get me wrong, I can cuddle and love on my chunky monk all day, but I was especially looking forward to a day with people around who wanted to hold Tenley and give our tired arms a break. Not only did my arms get a break; but my stomach got overloaded with pure deliciousnesssss. God, I love turkey dinner!

Tenley really had an amazing time with Tammy or as I call her the "Tenley Whisperer".
Tenley absolutely loved her and really loved her masseuse skills.

She made this hilarious face when Tammy would hit her spot:

Last but not least, I am thankful for my family and friends and white wine.

Although our family in Ohio is thousands of miles away, I am thankful for the close relationships we have maintained throughout the years. As they say, "distance makes the heart grow fonder." My family is awesome sauce and I don't know who I'd be without them. I am also grateful that I am surrounded by friends in Vegas that treat me as family. I have the best friends a girl could ask for.

This Thanksgiving was truly a Thanksgiving full of thanks.
I have nothing to complain about and everything to be thankful for.

Weekly Update: Easy Breezy

This week was super busy! Here is what we had going on...

I had to take Tenley to the pediatrician to get her second PKU test... all by myself.
(ME = TERRIFIED)

The morning was off to a good start...

Teddy took a nap and smiled in her sleep:

She was even peaceful in her car seat:

Then, when we arrived at the pediatrician's office I knocked over this cork board that was hanging on the wall with my diaper bag, but I was not going to let that defeat me. Baby girl remained cool, calm and collected in the waiting room. We were called back and the adventure began... I undressed Teddy so they could weigh her and noticed she had a wet diapy so I changed her real quick - no big. Then they weighed and measured her in her fresh diapy. Then, while waiting for Dr. Vu she got hungry. While feeding her (in nothing but her fresh diaper) she decided to blow out her diaper all over my side - AWESOME. So I changed her, again. After the doc checked her out I dressed her and we waited to have her little heel pricked for the PKU test:

All hell broke loose when they pricked her heel.

Baby girl screamed bloody murder cried as I kissed her cheeks.

She finally calmed down and got this bad ass band-aid:

Despite all the diapy changes and tears the trip went okay and here are some of the updates from the pediatrician: Tenley now weighs 10 pounds 7.9 ounces and is 22 inches long. Baby girl is in the 95th percentile for her weight and height; which means she weighs more than 95% of newborns her age and is 95% taller than newborns her age. Her belly button is completely healed and looks like a cinnamon swirl, just like mommies. The only bad news is that she has to continue taking Zantac until she's 6 months old since her stomach will be more mature then. Dr. Vu said that some babies need to be on it longer, but since she is already doing better we're keeping our fingers crossed that she'll be done taking it at 6 months.

After her visit with the pediatrician, baby girl was happy when daddy got home from work:

Since her belly button healed, she got her first "real" bath that night:
(Love that lil' butt!!)

And that was only Monday...

The rest of the week was easy breezy compared to Monday at the pediatrician.

Teddy started to cuddle with me after every feeding and it's now my fav thing to do:

She shows her love for daddy throughout the day by texting him pics like this:

She dresses like a teddy bear:

She still loves tummy time and mirrors:

She got her very first bottle from daddy:

On Friday we went to Lowe's to buy Teddy her first Christmas tree and we obviously had to buy her the most expensive biggest and fattest 7.5 foot tree:

(She already has daddy wrapped around her tiny fingers!)

She hung out in her Ergo carrier while I fluffed her big tree:

Then goofed off with daddy:

Baby loved the tree and kept staring at the lights!
(When she wasn't sleeping...)

On Saturday we went to the Espejo's to help them decorate for Christmas. Teddy was pooped and passed out on their couch - what a help she was!
(So stylish in her jeggings!)

To keep up with the Christmas cheer, I dressed Teddy up in Christmas gear to start decorating our house:

Baby girl sat in her Bumbo while mommy decorated:

Spoiled girl even got her very own mini tree:

And I got bit by the crafting bug and made this wreath:

Christmas is going to be a blast this year. Next week we'll be decorating the BIG tree!

TOMORROW IS THANKSGIVING!!

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!
I know what I'm thankful for this year...

Weekly Update: Speaking of Christmas...

This week started off with a bang... Tenley cried from 8 am to 1:30 am.

Ever since that day she has been much better and is now a happy baby.
(Thank God!)

Here are a few things we did this week...

Dominated tummy time:

Started sleeping in her pack-n-play:
(I guess this is a good thing, but I really miss her in my bed...)

Learned how to hold onto things:

Discovered how to stare at people:

Wore her chubby bunny PJs from Grammy:

Went to Town Square to meet Kasie and Jeremy:

Went for a walk:

Napped in her boppy:

Shopped for Christmas trees:

Speaking of Christmas, I have a few items on my wish list this year... I must say I have been awfully good this year and to top it off I gave birth to the most amazing lil' chick. I'm hoping to get one of the items on my wish list from Ed Santa:

1.) Canon - EOS Rebel T3i 18.0-Megapixel DSLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens
(to take pictures of my beautiful squishy cheeked daughter)

2.) Lava Indie Bumbleride
(to take my monkey butt on jogs)

3.) Green Apple KitchenAid Mixer
(to bake/cook for my lil' chunker)

A girl can dream, right?! ;)
