Weekly Update

My lil' diva insisted on wearing her tiara while she ate breakfast:

After breakfast, she yelled at Pearl for barking...

...but they quickly made up:

...and Tenley couldn't have been happier:

Ever since I bought Tenley her potty she has been trying to use it. On Monday she brought me to the bathroom door and I asked her if she had to use the potty and she shook her head "yes". When I opened the bathroom door she took out her potty and I took off her pants and diaper. She kept sitting and standing over and over again until she finally started to pee standing up. I hurried and put her on her potty and she even got a few drops in it:

She was so happy and I was so proud of her!! I can't believe she already kind of understands what the potty is for. Later that night, she wanted to try again and had me read her favorite potty book to her:

She didn't pee that time, but she has fun trying so we don't mind!

Tenley found a new hiding spot- the pantry:

She started to get really good at reaching the gas pedal in her Benz:

On Tuesday morning I woke up with a high fever (again), so my sweet baby made me some tea:

Although I was sick, Tenley seemed to be feeling fine and was giving Dolly a ride in her Minnie Mouse car...

...and playing with her blocks:

Later that day, Tenley quickly started to feel very sick. She was coughing and her temperature started to rise. By the time Ed got home from work she was coughing so bad that she was throwing up so we took her to Pediatric Urgent Care...

...while we were there T was so upset and crying so hard that she was throwing up all over the waiting room. Once we got back to a room they tested her for RSV and the flu. She was so upset by them sticking a q-tip in her nose that she began to vomit again (so much so that I had to get rid of my black Uggs that I was wearing). While waiting for the results she finally passed out and the doctor came in to tell us that she was negative for both tests, but he said she may have a slight ear infection and put her on an antibiotic.

The next day, Ed took off work because he had also had a fever since Sunday night. Tenley fell asleep on the couch with her Daddy...

...but when she woke up she was on FIRE! Baby girl had a temperature of 105. Ed called her pediatrician and they said we needed to take her to the ER immediately.

When we got to the ER her temperature was still blazing. The doctor said he didn't think she had an ear infection, but thought it was possible for her to have a UTI. The only way to test for a UTI is to do a catheter. So yes, my sweet baby girl was held down while the nurse did a catheter to test her urine. We tortured her for nothing because the results were negative. They gave her some Motrin and I filled her up on breast milk to calm her down. Needless to say, she was exhausted:

Since we had all been so sick we really didn't have any plans for Valentine's Day. Ed was back to work and I spent the day with my sick lil' Valentine:

Although she was still feverish she was still being silly:

I got Ed a card that gushed about how much I love him and appreciate everything he does for me, while he surprised me with these pretty flowers:

We got our lil' Valentine a bunch of books and Tinkerbell balloons:
(Chick is OBSESSED with balloons!)

Tenley opened her Valentines from Grandma & Grandpa Ditata and GiGi & Great Grandpa Ed:

(Thanks everyone!! Books are always a hit, but Tenley really loves her puppy and butterflies, too.)

T still had a high temperature on Friday so she cooled herself off:

She took her balloons everywhere with here:

We came to the realization that baby is getting her canines in addition to everything else; which explains the high temps. She chomped on a teether while watching Yo Gabba Gabba:

She did NOT want to take a bath Friday night. Poor baby just wanted to cuddle her Daddy:

After several failed nap attempts, Tenley Bear finally fell asleep in my arms:

She really likes stacking her stars:

Since T was feeling a little bit better Sunday night we let her try GiGi's famous chocolate chip cookies that she mailed to us for Valentine's Day...

...obviously she loved them!! I've never known anyone to not like Grandma Rita's famous cookies- to die for.

Until next week! :)

Weekly Update

Baby cakes was still a little under the weather on Monday, but on Tuesday she started being her smiley/silly self again...

...goose even wore her bear's mullet wig:

Wednesdays are extremely long for me and I have to get creative towards the end of the day because I'm so exhausted...so I let Tenley put stickers all over our sliding glass doors:

I was finally starting to feel better, then I woke up with pink eye on Thursday. Luckily, it's not that big of a deal. Tenley was 100% back to her crazy self and had massive amounts of energy built up from the past week and a half of being sick.

She kept body slamming Minnie on the couch:

She forced Pearl to play with her ALL day:

She even ate this amazingly yummy and easy chicken I made, but silly girl would only eat it if she could use a fork instead of her fingers (such a big girl!!)...

...here is the recipe if you are interested:
(I made it with wild rice and asparagus as the sides and I put the chicken on top of the rice- so yummy!)

To get out more of Tenley's energy we went to Barnes and Noble and let her run around and pick out books to read:

Tenley is getting really good at her shapes, fruits and house animals due to these awesome wood puzzles:

Tenley and Pearl were cuddle bugs:

We went to breakfast Saturday morning and Tenley had fun coloring:

After breakfast Tenley mailed her Valentines:
(I feel bad because I had this adorable Valentine's Day outfit to take pics of her in for her cards, but she was sick all week and I was sick as well so I never got around to taking new pics for her cards. So I apologize to our fam and her lil' pals!)

After breakfast we came home and had so much fun playing in the backyard...

...Tenley loved collecting leaves and putting them in her wagon:

...she continued to hide Pearl's toys and pull the wagon away from Pearl:

...she loved going down the slide:

...she had a ball on the swings with us:

...but her favorite part was playing in her clubhouse with Daddy:

...poor Pearl was so jealous of all the fun they were having:

...so I put her up in the clubhouse, too! Then everyone was happy:

We went to Toys R Us that afternoon and Tenley made out with some cool new toys (as if she needs more). She was especially excited about her mega blocks...

...Daddy was pretty stoked, too:

She also got these cool alphabet magnets that you match the letter with a picture and those entertained her for awhile:

We ended the night with story time:

On Sunday Tenley had her first Girl Scout cookie- thin mint, of course:

(Obvi she loved them!!!!)

Once she was on a sugar high, she had fun knocking down my masterpiece:

Until next week! :)
