Weekly Update

I've been working on myself through workouts recently. Whether it's through keeping my mind quiet with yoga or a nice long walk to clear my head, it's been my saving grace through the terrible 2's x2 + 1. Ed was off for President's day and encouraged Linds to bring her gals over so just her and I could go for a walk together. We chatted the entire time and the walk to the top of the water tower was much easier without the kids in tow:
(Thanks Ed!!)

After our workout, we all took the kids to the park where we got yet another workout consisting of chasing 5 crazy toddlers:

Tenley is currently obsessed with parties...birthday parties, weddings, holiday parties, etc. Every day we are celebrating someone's birthday around here and she "bakes" their birthday cake all day. To try to relieve my brain of the birthday talk I told her that it was almost Easter; which opened a whole new can of worms...an Easter obsession! We instantly had to make a list for the Easter Bunny (because that's a thing?). Tenley told me what she wanted the Easter Bunny to bring her, I wrote it down and she insisted on copying it and I was ridiculously proud of her:

The Rice gals met us at Acacia Park Tuesday morning. Before heading to the playground, we walked the kids through the garden and took the trail all the way to the Fiesta. It was another good workout and the kids had so much fun skipping through the garden on the way to the playground:

The kiddos collected rocks at the park and we painted them outside that afternoon:

When my little artists were done painting they played on the swing set and I discovered that the twins may have a future in professional rock climbing:

Tenley smothered sissy with kisses before bedtime:

Tenley learned about the letter 'C' at school on Wednesday and made this adorable cupcake with a cherry on top:

Tenley gave me a "makeover" while the twins napped:

Tenley got herself dressed for our playdate Thursday morning and she looked so cute in her new dress from Grandma Cath:

(Thanks, mom!! She definitely gets her style and girly ways from you!)

Erin and the kiddos came over and they had so much fun playing together while Erin and I chatted:

The twins were in such great moods, then a switch flipped for Ev...girlfriend screamed for almost an hour. I'm talking bloody murder screams and banging her head on anything and everything (is this normal?!). For no reason, too! To top it off, just when she calms down, Wes starts. These two are 0-60, I tell ya:

I woke up feeling great on Friday and then reality smacked me in the face. Here's the situation...Ev has these Freshly Picked purple ice cream moccs and she was dead set on wearing them even though they were too small. After telling her that she couldn't wear them she lost her shit. I had to start trying to get her in the car at 8:20am to take T to school. She screamed, cried and kicked my seat the entire time. She was so loud that Tenley's teacher came to the car and said, "we heard that you were here...patience, patience, patience!" I figured maybe a trip to the park would help so I pulled into the park and was literally going to let her go barefoot since she wouldn't let me put anything on her feet, but she refused! I sat in the car sobbing, just asking God to fix whatever issue she is having this week and to give me all the patience to deal. Wes began to cry and begged to go to the park, but Ev was not letting it happen. I felt awful. After sitting there sobbing as people starred at me, I gave up and headed home. When I got home I got Wes out of the car first, treated him to a sucker and braced myself to get Ev out. When I unbuckled her I just bear hugged her and begged her to hug me back. I felt like the worst mom ever for not being able to have a solution to her screaming and also felt like the worst mom for loosing my cool with her. She finally calmed down and rushed me to put the shoes I had been trying to get on her all along so I could take them outside to play. My sweet boy was also concerned about his sissy and made sure she felt extra loved with lots of hugs and kisses:

While that was going on, Tenley was busy learning about body parts at school and made this skeleton:

All of Ev's fussing resulted in one good thing- a long nap:

While they napped and T relaxed, I did my 'Yoga Studio' app; which helped clear my mind like no other:

When Ed got home from work on Friday I felt exactly like this:

Luckily, Ed took the kids to get dinner that night while I showered in peace and got ready for a night out with the girls:

Linds, Erin and I went to Due and Proper for drinks and appetizers Friday night. We had way too much fun! Best thing about it is that we get each other and made it home and in bed by 8:30pm. These are my kind of ladies:

I hate running, but it's a good way to get aggression out after a rough week so I went for a run/walk Saturday morning. It was my first time doing it and I ran/walked 3.33 miles with a weak time of 13'11''. Either way, it was nice (and quiet):

The twins chomped on lollipops during T's dance class Saturday morning. I really enjoyed watching this class because they got really into all the "poses":

I messed around with Ev's little bit of hair and managed to pull of her first itty bitty piggie:

The kids played so nicely together Sunday morning; which was long overdue:

After naps, the kids insisted on painting pictures for Pop Pop's birthday card:

I felt like I was on an emotional roller coaster this week. It definitely felt like the kids were scheming against me:

I know I shouldn't wish away time, but I'm very grateful that this week is behind me and I'm praying better days are on the horizon!

Until next time! :)
