Weekly Update

In preparation of our upcoming Christmas Eve and Christmas dinners, I had to get started on prepping the meals so I put the kids to work in the kitchen:

Wes decided he had enough in the kitchen and got back to doing boy things:

I made a cheesy, broccoli, rice and chicken casserole for dinner and the twins got a little messy:

My addiction to doTERRA oils reached a new level...Merry Christmas to me:

Cooking was still in full swing on Tuesday. The kids were playing so sweetly together that I managed to boil all of the endive for my wedding soup and make all of the mini meatballs for the soup, as well:

Ev attempted to take some steps, but kept falling on her booty:

The twins played right through nap time and were being so good. Before attempting to put them down for their afternoon nap, I put them in their highchairs for a quick snack while Tenley ate lunch. I quickly did some of the dishes while everyone was eating nicely together and when I looked back over I noticed something I never thought I'd witness one of my kids doing:

She was so exhausted that I managed to unbuckle her, change her diaper, swaddle her, get her to nurse a bit and put her in her crib without her even opening her eyes. She is seriously too good to be true! I hope she always stays this sweet.

While the kids napped, I peeled potatoes, boiled them and fried onions for pierogies. Once everyone was up, they got dressed in their adorable pierogie shirts from Great Grammy Sophie and goofed off in the kitchen while I finished mashing up the pierogie filling:

(Thanks, Grammy!!)

That night Wes decided to really take off with walking! He took some adorably wobbly steps towards the Christmas tree and lowered himself down when he ran out of room to walk:

He even took some steps toward us at bath time before veering off to climb on the pack-n-play. I think it's safe to say, THE MOOSE IS LOOSE:

We had an ah-mazing Christmas Eve and Christmas day!

Our tree was looking pretty pathetic after Christmas. Tenley insisted on hanging all of her new jewelry on it, putting her Olaf tea set in the branches, shoving all of her Palace Pet cards everywhere...I mean our poor tree:

Our entire Friday was spent taking down the tree because 1.) it was a disaster [picture above] and 2.) I am way too excited to start getting ready for the twins first birthday! Although I was excited to have my house back, Tenley did't understand where her tree was going. She kept saying, "maybe I take a nap and the tree come back?" and "I be a real, real good girl so I get me ornaments back." It broke my heart! She loves Christmas! She hated watching me take down the tree. The twins cared less as they played with one of their favorite toys from Santa- Disneyland:

(He's obsessed with the fireworks!)

The temperature really took a dive here in Vegas; which has been a nice change because it has truly felt like winter. Planning for the twins birthday was in full effect now that Christmas was packed up for the year, so to speak, so we bundled up the kids and were off to Freed's bakery so the twins could pick their birthday cake flavors:

They weren't too sure about it, but no worries because Tenley tried every flavor and had a blast! She chose a marble flavor for the bottom tier and red velvet for the top tier. And get this, her favorite flavor was the red velvet (like mother, like daughter):

The babes played when we got home while Tenley watched her weird YouTube videos (she's obsessed with YouTube):

Wes has been saying "mama" for awhile now, but he added "bye, bye" to his vocabulary and we tried getting it on video, but he just wanted to say "mama":

Evie Cakes woke up super early on Sunday and stole my (empty) cup of coffee:

Wes decided to join the early morning party:

Since we are in desperate need of storage space in our house, Ed built shelves in the kid's playroom closet. Tenley will also have a lower bar to hang her dresses on, too. She thought it was so cool that Daddy was building something and insisted on helping him the entire time. She was so proud of him and kept saying, "mommy, look! Daddy makes dis!":

Until next time! :)
