Weekly Update

Tenley still wasn't eating at all and was having coughing fits left and right. I kept her home from school and she was so bummed because she really wanted to play with her friends, but I didn't want to risk getting them all sick, too. We spent the day relaxing to try to get her strength back and she had fun dressing up as Cinderella and using a fan like Princess Amber from 'Sofia the First':

(Thanks for the gorgeous fan, Great Grammy Sophie!)

Tenley still wouldn't eat lunch, but Ev and Wes were not shy about getting down and dirty on some spaghetti:

While Moose Man took his morning nap, the girls and I read books together; which really made T happy:

The babes were such big helpers and helped me unload the dishwasher:
(They look so cute in their matching outfits, Aunt Donna! Thanks, again!)

Tuesday was my father-in-law's birthday and Tenley thought he was coming over for cake:
(Happy birthday, Pop Pop!! We really wish we could've celebrated with you, but we will celebrate in a few weeks! Love you!)

I decided I would disinfect the house on Tuesday since Tenley was on the tail-end of her sickness and let me just say, trying to clean with 3 kids is no easy task. At one point I had Ev playing in the toilet because I forgot to shut the bathroom door while Wes was playing with a full yogurt that Tenley left on the couch. There was yogurt all over the couch and living room. After I got Ev cleaned up she figured out what Wes was into and it ended in a spoon fight:

Since Ev was so frustrated about not having yogurt I decided it was time for lunch. The twins have been feeding themselves with their fingers forever now, but she took things up a notch and has begun mastering the spoon:

After lunch, I got them both down for a nap at the same time; which landed me in the middle of the most delicious sandwich I've ever seen:

That night the kids got a surprise in the mail from Aunt Jewie:
(Thanks for thinking of us, Aunt Jewie!)

We've been going stir crazy from being stuck inside the house trying to get better. The kids have been so easily entertained that just opening the curtains in their room kept them entertained for at least an hour on Wednesday:

I finally got Tenley a.k.a. Queen Elsa to eat lunch while reading her books:

We FaceTimed with the Robbins crew Thursday morning and Tenley gave Elle lots of kisses before saying goodbye:

Just when we thought our house was ALMOST free of germs, Evie woke up with a cough that I've never heard before in my life. Tenley was so concerned about her baby sister that she walked around holding her hand all day:

I tried my hardest to get the babes to both nap since Ev desperately needed it, but unfortunately I only got Wes to nap. Ev just wanted to play with her baby doll and read books:

I made Ev an appointment with the pediatrician since her cough sounded so awful. I just knew in my gut that it was croup. While I was making the appointment Tenley said, "mommy pwease wet me go first so Evie don't haves to go. I'll gets a shot in me mouth for her, jus pwease wet me go for hers." It absolutely melted my heart and brought tears to my eyes. She is such a sweet girl and it's moments like that when I know I'm doing something right. Tenley and I got Ev ready for Ed to pick her up for her appointment and she was walking around the house with her shoes in her hands ready to go:

Sure enough, Dr. Vu confirmed my suspicions and said baby girl had croup. He said that Tenley probably had it as well and that Ev's petite body is probably just handling it worse. He prescribed her a steroid and breathing treatment so hopefully she'll get better soon. After her appointment she finally just wanted to sleep and cuddle:

Poor Evie slept good at night until she started to cough around midnight. Her and I cuddled through the coughs until around 3am, when she finally passed back out until around 9am:

While Ev slept in, Tenley and Wesley played quietly. Unfortunately for Wes he had to play dress-up:

Ev wasn't interested in staying up for too long as she went down for a nap at 11am and didn't wake up until 3pm! She was knocked out:

White the kids napped, Tenley dressed up Pearl:

I ended up switching Tenley's dance class to Saturday morning because the awesome owners at Astudia allowed Isla to switch with Tenley even though the class was full. I can't tell you how much easier this makes my life! I put Ev down for an early morning nap Saturday before taking Tenley to her first official Saturday dance class:

The 9am Saturday class is actually 3-4 year olds (not 2-3 year olds); which means it's more fast paced and can keep Tenley's attention. Just from doing a make class on Saturday and this class she has learned so much already! She sure has fun dancing with Ms. Cherity and all her ballerina pals:

(How cute are they?! They love their teacher!)

Even though I was baby-free I got to cuddle Sailor; which had me over-joyed:

It was Callie's third birthday so everyone got 'Frozen' cupcakes after class to celebrate:

Tenley was being really shy (totally not like her) before dance and the only way I could get her to go in and dance was with the promise of a sucker. I was hoping that after eating all the cupcake frosting on the way home that she would've forgotten about our little sucker discussion, but nope! As soon as we walked in the door she was asking for it and I had to stick to my word. When I gave her the sucker that she deserved she said, "dis sucker be as big as me head, mommy!" She was pretty excited, but could only stomach a few licks (thank God!):

The rest of our Saturday was spent building blocks and pretending like it were sunny inside:

(We call him Bernie around here...doesn't it fit him?)

During dinner on Sunday, the twins were being extra cute and kept trying to hold hands. Each day their bond gets stronger and it is just fascinating to watch:

I'm so glad Tenley is all better and that Ev is on the mend! Fingers crossed that Wes will stay free and clear of this nasty bug!

Until next time! :)
