Weekly Update

I forgot to include one pretty hilarious conversation I had with Tenley, the 3 year old going on 23, last week about marriage...

Tenley: "You married to Daddy and I'm married to Braxton."
Me: "Braxton?! From school?"
Tenley: "Yeah, mommy. And Addyson's married to Jazz."
Me: "You're too young to be married."
Tenley: "Oh. Well, I'll marry Jazz den and Addysen can marry Braxton."
Me: "Do they know you're 'married'?"
Tenley: "No. Maybe I need to go to school and ask dem."
Me: "No! No, you don't need to do that. When you're old enough to get married the man will ask daddy."
Tenley: "Oh, okay. And he'll say okay and I'll marry one, two, tree boys. Yes, tree boys.
Maybe we need to go buy my dress and veil now?"

I was so stunned that she knew about weddings, veils and marriages with boys, but I don't know why I was so shocked when every Disney movie is centered around some sort of love story. She has a little crush on the boy, Braxton, from school and it's sooo cute, but it drives Ed nuts. She tells stories about him everyday. He's not in her class, he's in the day-care and they read stories together during "story-time" and I guess he's a bit of a "trouble maker" according to Tenley.

On Monday she got all beautified before going to school on Monday and Wes helped me look presentable for drop-off:

Tenley learned about the letter 'X' at school and practiced writing her name:

I made the kids homemade mac 'n cheese for lunch and they all loved it, but Ev could not get enough of it:

We had a delicious breakfast Tuesday morning- scrambled eggs, avocado and apple slices:

The twins had their 15 month well-check Tuesday morning. I'm not ashamed to admit that I was that mom who never let their kids touch one single thing while at the pediatrician's office, but now with 3 toddlers it is absolutely impossible to keep them from touching the toys:

The nurse came and got us to do the kids measurements. Evie was 19lbs and 30in tall, while Wes was 24lbs and 31.5in tall. She said that they were worried about their growth because it was on the decline. She said we'd have to come back in a month to check it again because it could've been error; which I think it was because Wes wasn't really cooperating when they laid him down for his height. After measurements we went to our room and waited for the doctor to come see us.

Wes had a plantar wart on his foot froze off about a month ago and must have been having flash backs because he. was. not. having. it. The only way I could calm him down was to nurse him; which, of course, meant Ev wanted to nurse, too. I had both babes on my lap nursing, Tenley begging for a sucker, while I filled the doc in on their progress since their last well-check. I mean, being a twin mom has made me a multi-tasker like I never thought possible:

I kept my cool while the babes whaled (because what else am I going to do?), but the doc was freaking out a bit. While giving them a check-up (all while attached to me...I have no shame these days...), she discovered that they each had low grade fevers (in the 99 range) and that Wes had a double ear infection. He was acting totally normal so I had no idea. Since he had a double ear infection he wasn't able to get his shots, but the doc said, "since Ev is getting shots and has a slight fever let's give her some tylenol. Plus, it'll calm them down." Once they got their tylenol syringes they were happy campers (until the shot nurse came around):

The twins were happy to be home after their appointment. While I was doing dishes after dinner I heard them giggling together in the living room and caught them doing this:

I had to wake Tenley up for school on Wednesday because she was completely passed out:

While Tenley was at school the twins and I went shopping together for "baby food" because the pediatrician had me all worried about their weight and height:

Tenley learned about 'zoo animals' at school and made this adorable lion:

Tenley chowed down on breaded organic chicken, roasted red potatoes and green beans for dinner:

After watching the twins eat their weight in food for dinner I was mad for letting the doctor worry me. The twins are such good eaters. They may not be big fans of "baby food", but they have always loved to eat what we ate. Ev may be a peanut, but I swear she has a wooden leg. Ed refused to believe the charts that the doc gave me so he re-measured the twins and measured Ev at 30.5in tall (60%) and Wes at 33.5in tall (95%), much better than them telling me they were around the 25%. So I guess I'll just keep doing what I've been doing!

The twins took a nap together Thursday afternoon, but Ev woke up shortly after to watch cartoons with sissy:

Ev looked adorable in her hand-me-down dress from Elle:
(Thanks, Chels! I love putting her in Elle's dresses!)

We went to Target Friday morning and Wes found a toy that he just had to have- his very first Hot Wheels car:

After playing, Wes passed out with his eyes open (as always) and looked so cute and long:

Tenley all of a sudden surprised me with being able to spell her last name:

The Rices have been telling us about their favorite pizza place called 'Pizza Rock' downtown for awhile now, but we never made the trek all the way down there. Lucky for us, they just opened one in Green Valley Ranch and the Rices treated us to some mighty delicious pizza, drinks and a dang good time! We got a pizza called the 'Artichoke Joe'; which was so different and delish and we also got a cheese pizza and the kids loved it. The girls had fun coloring and cheersin', while Wes macked on his girl- Sailor. As I held Sailor and patted her back he got so giddy and began to pat her back and smack his lips, he's in love. Of course the kids had to go in the semi-truck and beep the horn extremely long before leaving, too. I just love these guys:

Tenley had dance class Saturday morning and the twins had fun running around and playing with Daddy while I watched Tenley because she finally started learning her recital routine:

We went to Harrison's first birthday party and we had so much fun. Tenley is still talking about how she ate too much sugar:

(Happy birthday, Harrison!!)

Tenley woke up on Sunday with a bit of a cold so our plans went out the window. We had a very lazy day. Ev took such a good nap, while Wes skipped his afternoon nap so he could cuddle with daddy and watch the Cavs game:

To end this on a funny note...I came across this and was dying:

Until next time! :)
