The twins woke up on the wrong side of the bed Monday morning and after dropping Tenley off at school the only thing that soothed them was a nursing session. I absolutely love nursing, but the one thing I do hate is when people ask when I'll be done. It's something I've never had a deadline with and I just love watching these two bond while they nurse. Their nursing session turned these grumpy babes into sweet loving siblings again. Wes melted my heart into a pile a mush when he kissed his sisters cheek, rubbed her head and hopped off the couch before going to play with his beloved Lightning McQueen:
Tenley came home bragging about how good she is getting at writing her name and also told me all about how she learned about hot air balloons:
When the kids were napping and Tenley was "relaxing" in her room, I had a hot minute to drink coffee and I saw this picture posted on Tenley's preschool's Facebook page and just started dying:
You may recall me mentioning how Tenley woke up with a cold last Sunday, but after using some doTERRA essential oils she seemed totally fine by Tuesday morning. I'm guessing it was just allergies so to help her out I made pancakes for breakfast and added some local honey I bought from Whole Foods:
After our honey pancakes; which were delicious by the way, we went to play outside since it was a beautiful day. I could watch the kids play together all day:
The kids made a mess while I cooked breaded chicken and haluski for dinner:
Tenley never lets anyone pick whats on the TV, but for some reason she really loves to watch the Cavs. She kept saying, "why day keep goin back and fort, mommy?" while they intensely watched the Cavs defeat the Celtics:
After waking up at 5:30am, Wes fell asleep on the 2 minute drive to drop Tenley off at school so I got in some alone time with Evie:
Tenley continued to learn about transportation at school on Wednesday and she was pretty excited about this hot air balloon that she made:
After school, we played in the backyard:
Before heading inside so Evie could take her nap, Wes wanted to make sure he got in some smooches. He is seriously the sweetest brother:
To say Ev was "passed out" seems like an understatement:
The new park down the street, McCullough Vista Park, finally opened! And I say finally because Tenley literally asked if it was open every single day. As soon as daddy got home from work we packed up the wagon and walked there:
The babes loved the double slides, tunnel, and music instruments, while Tenley loved the swings and the massive hill that overlooked our neighborhood. It's the perfect park (except it doesn't have a splash pad):
Tenley and daddy have been reading "Guess How Much I Love You" before bed for about 2 straight weeks now and Tenley pretty much has it memorized, but more importantly they are running out of room in her tiny toddler bed:
We walked to McCullough Vista Park to meet our friends Thursday morning:
The twins woke up at 5:30am on Friday and were being such peaches. I knew I could not stay in the house so I headed to Costco as soon as they opened. The kids were so good as soon as we got out of the house and Ev was even waving at everyone like a pageant Queen:
After our Costco trip it was nap time a.k.a. my free time; which quickly turned into cuddling Wes back to sleep, then putting him back down so I could cuddle/comfort nurse Ev back to sleep:
I ordered what I believe will be the biggest game changer for our summer- the Duo Twin Pool Float from Stuff 4 Multiples. I was convinced we'd never be able to go to the pool without Ed, but now it's going to be possible. Let's just hope once their legs are actually in place they're not flopping all over the place like they were on the floor:
Tenley had dance Saturday morning and they continued to practice their recital. The twins have been quite a handful because they've been wanting to run around in the other dance room so I haven't been able to get many pics, but it seems like they're in recital mode and we're all excited about that:
Ev was so tired after dance that she just fell asleep in Ed's arms. She hasn't fallen asleep on him in over a year so he was terrified to move:
Wes and Ev were hacking up a storm all day Saturday and were being so grumpy. I think they caught whatever Tenley had in the beginning of the week or their allergies are acting up because it was super windy and rained all day. Wes was so full of mucus that he threw up. Poor guy sounded like he's been smoking for 100 years. Needless to say, we had a low-key afternoon with legos:
Since we werent sure if the kids were suffering from allergies or sick, we had to cancel dinner plans with the Venturinos just in case. The girls and I watched the Cavs sweep the Celtics:
Then the babes took a much needed nap:
Fingers crossed it was just the wind and they'll be feeling better after it heats back up this week!
