My sweet boy woke up bright and early at 4:30am on Monday so we got in some much needed alone time with his latest obsession- cars:
My heart melted when I picked Tenley up from school and I heard all of her friends shouting, "bye, Tenwee!" I love seeing her face light up every time her teacher brings her to our car as she begins to tell me about her day..."I made a Yack today, mommy. Yackiddy-Yack!":
Tenley read to the babies Tuesday morning and tried to teach them some new words:
My mom's love for flamingos has been passed down to Tenley and I so when Linds and her mom were shopping Sandi bought Tenley this beautiful Lilly Pulitzer dress and we're both kind of obsessed! After Tenley was done reading to the babes, we got ready to play in the backyard and Tenley insisted on wearing her new "flamango gown". Obviously I can't say no when she chooses to look so cute. She loved the way it looked when she twirled and swinged. Such a girly girl, that one. While Tenley was twirling, the babies were busy eating as much chalk as they could sneak by:
Ev put up a bit of a fight when it was time to nap, but I won the battle:
While the twins napped, my little diva played with her magic clips and her animation just cracks me up:
Personality and beauty...how can you not love this girl:
(Thanks again for the dress, Sandi!!)
When Ev woke up from her nap, the girls worked on their animal sounds and I don't think I've heard cuter animal sounds before in my life:
Ev finally cut a tooth so I wasn't totally shocked when she woke up at 3:30am, then Wes woke up at 5:30am and Tenley at 6:30am. It was a rough morning and the babies were ready for a nap before it was even time to take Tenley to school. Somehow I managed to get everyone dressed, but was still a few minutes late to school. When I arrived and was unbuckling Tenley. Tenley's teacher glanced into my full car, put her hand on my shoulder and said, "gosh, I just have to admire you and give you a pat on the back." I didn't know what to say because she caught me off guard, but once I got in the car and the kids instantly fell asleep I immediately started balling as I drove away. Once we arrived at The District I crawled in the back and watched the babes sleep peacefully until 9:30am, then they woke up and we enjoyed the splash pad before heading to Janie and Jack so I could snag the girls these adorable flamingo swimsuits that I died over:
After getting a little wet at the splash pad, we went to pick Tenley up from school and she was so excited to show us the barn that she made:
After naps, Wes practiced his fastpitch, while Ev tried on her new bathing suit:
Wes insisted on holding Ev's hand while they ate breakfast Thursday morning and it melted my heart:
Ev woke up from her nap in the best mood and looked refreshed and sweeter than ever:
While nursing Ev Friday morning Tenley cuddled next to her and gave her kisses while saying, "I love my sissy!":
May 1st was opening day of the park splash pads so, of course, we were all over that! The kids and I met Lindsay and Lyndsey at Mission Hills Park and had a blast with our friends:
Ev fell asleep on our 2 minute drive home and transitioned right into her crib:
Ev woke up early Saturday morning and I was so bummed that I had to stop snuggling with these two sleepy heads:
(I mean, that smile and hand on the chin...I can't.)
Since Ev was cranky from being up so early I went to Tenley's dance class solo; which meant I got to snuggle Sailor:
(Isn't she the cutest?!)
Dance class was so much fun because of all the nostalgic music, such as Britney Spears and "I'm a Barbie Girl":
Every week they practice their recital Tenley has to go potty for some reason so she has never practiced the routine, but she was finally present for the whole thing after her bathroom break! She has a lot of work to do, but I think she'll get it down in no time:
The girls held hands after dance and it was so sweet:
We hit up another splash pad with daddy Sunday morning:
We made meatloaf and mashed potatoes for dinner and Ev couldn't get enough of the mashed potatoes:
Until next time! :)
