Monday was our first full day planned at Disneyland so we started the day early with reservations at Goofy's Kitchen for the whole fam. The girls were excited to hold hands on the walk there:
Tenley was scared of Goofy at first and clung to Daddy, until she warmed up:
Wes was all show and no go...he was so excited as he waited for Goofy to return from a "snack break", but as soon as he returned he was terrified of the big fella. My niece also needed some warm-up time because she wasn't into Goofy either. That girl was all about her breakfast, no surprise there. Little Ev was the only one who wasn't scared of Goofy and ran around his kitchen like it was hers:
(This picture cracks me up!! Poor Wes running away...WILD my butt!!)
On our way to be seated, Tenley ran into Minnie and, of course, she wasn't scared of her:
After we got plates full of Mickey waffles, Mickey pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, fruit and my personal favorite- the best EVER bananas fosters crepes, we got a quick visit from Dale and spent awhile with the girls favorite- Minnie Mouse:
(Look at them looking up at Minnie!! I just love these girlies!!)
The kids had a blast playing on the seats and watching the characters parade through the restaurant as they waved their rags and clapped for the characters:
Wes was still acting macho from far away with Daddy; he'd hoot, holler and wave until the characters came over, then he would hide in Daddy's shoulders when they got near. The girls didn't mind because it meant more time for them to spend chattin' up their pals. Evie even decided to get real personal with Pluto and started flashing him her belly and he thought she was so silly:
Before we left they brought out cupcakes and anniversary pins for Ed and I. Tenley assumed it was our birthday so the girls sang 'Happy Birthday' to us and blew out our candles before they chowed down on what I'm assuming were delicious cupcakes:
After breakfast we made our way to California Adventure and my niece had her heart set on Ariel's Undersea Adventure and you know Tenley was more than happy about that so we headed under the sea first:
My brother-in-law's fam hit up a Disney Jr. Live show, but Tenley was too excited about the rides so we headed to Cars Land. The twins napped while Tenley rode Mater's Junkyard Jamboree with Daddy, then again with me:
After walking around in Cars Land for a bit, the twins woke up and Wesley picked out a new Lightning McQueen hat with Mickey ears:
After the Disney Jr. Live show was over we met back up with the rest of the fam and the kids hit up King Triton's Carrousel while Ed and I rode California Screamin' for the very first time:
Riding California Screamin' was definitely the highlight of this vacation for me. Hearing Ed giggle like a little kid, squeezing his hand, feeling my stomach drop and just having so much fun with my love was the cherry on top of the cake.
Since my father-in-law also loves roller coasters and the line was only 20 minutes long we talked him into going on it while the kids rode the carrousel over and over again. Hearing him scream behind me was hilarious and I'm so grateful we got to do this together:
(When Ed and I went on by ourselves it didn't even cross my mind to snap a pic of our pic until I saw everyone else doing it. I didn't have my phone on me and by the time Ed got out his phone to snap a pic the screen changed so we didn't get a pic. We're such newbies!)
After some convincing, we forced talked my father-in-law into riding Mickey's Fun Wheel. My family loved it, but the verdict is still out with everyone else:
After some food, we headed over to meet Olaf and showered him with warm hugs, of course:
Then, it was off to Mike & Sulley to The Rescue! Evie loved it, Wes was asleep, as usual, and Tenley was scared. She is scared of everything this time (even Ariel's Undersea Adventure):
Next up, we went to watch the 'For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration'. Wes wasn't into it like the girls were, but Tenley loved it and kept saying, "mom, this is my happy face!" She really loved the end when Elsa came and made it snow:
Keeping with the 'Frozen' theme, we went to meet Queen Elsa and Anna themselves (seriously, California Adventure FastPasses are where it's at! We hardly had to wait for anything!):
(Ev's like, "ma, you getting this?! It's Elsa!!)
After a long day at the park, we headed to Rainforest Cafe for yummy food and drinks:
We were all exhausted so we headed back to the hotel and called it a night since we had another busy day planned for tomorrow!
Stay tuned...
