We got to get a little more beauty sleep on Tuesday, but we were still out of the hotel by 9am (hey, that's late for us!) and ready for another fun day:
Wes hung out on Daddy's shoulders and looked so comfy:
While the boys went to get FastPasses for the World of Color water show, my mom and I got our very first taste of the world famous Disneyland churros. Let me just say, Willie's Churros did not disappoint! Tenley didn't want to try it, but Evie jumped on the churro train with momma and loved it:
(I had to send Linds a pic of me eating a churro 'cause she said she'd kill me if I didn't try one this time!)
Tenley freaked when we walked past Ariel's Grotto and didn't go inside so we quickly distracted her by taking her to meet Donald Duck:
Since we had some time to kill before our reservations at Ariel's Grotto, we hit up King Triton's Carrousel:
My sister-in-law wanted to ride California Screamin' so we were all over that:
After getting our scream on, we headed to Ariel's Grotto for lunch. On the walk over Wes passed out on Pop Pop's shoulder:
My girls had to be restrained the entire time we waited to see Ariel because they were so excited. When it was our turn I was so surprised with how into Ariel Evie was. She kept wanting to hug her and I think Tenley was a little jealous because I noticed her trying to get Ariel's attention by explaining her outfit to Ariel:
As soon as we sat down Tenley began waving for the Princesses to come over, but the show hadn't even begun yet. She was so excited and Ev was being silly with Daddy:
The princesses began to make their way out and Tenley was SO excited (this is what she was looking forward to the most). None of the girls needed to warm up for this:
(Notice Wes in the stroller? Yupp, that boy slept the entire time! Rough life.)
(Of course I had to get a picture with my favorite Princess!)
After the show, the girls chowed down. Everything about Ariel's Grotto is exceptional, but to make it even better Ed and I decided to spice it up with beer and sangria (best choice, ever!). Lunch at Ariel's Grotto was beyond words:
My brave Tenley went on the Jumpin' Jellyfish with Daddy and had a blast:
We enjoyed an iced lemonade and the beautiful views on our walk to Cars Land:
When we got to Cars Land Everly was napping so the rest of us got to meet Tow Mater and Lightning McQueen. Wes was so excited when he walked up to Lightening McQueen. He was waving and shouting. He's McQueen's biggest fan:
(It took awhile to take this picture because the cast member took a picture with my mom and mother-in-law's iPhone's, but she couldn't fit us all in on my mom's phone and Lightening McQueen said, "C'mon! Squeeze in already!" Tenley was cracking up and said, "Guys! He said squeeze in already!" We were all laughing!)
We made our way to Radiator Springs Racers to use our FastPasses to take Tenley on what we consider to be her first roller coaster because this ride went fast! At first we were like 'oh this is going to be okay' and she was loving it! Then we pulled along side another car and raced them through these hills at a SUPER fast speed for Tenley. She grabbed me during the ride and said, "Mommy, I'm scared!" I felt bad, but she was fine after and we really had fun:
We finally made our way into Disneyland and since everyone was awake we took a picture in front of the entrance's 60th celebration sign:
When we walked toward Main Street we saw Ariel, Snow White, Cinderella, Belle, Mickey, Pluto, Minnie...you name 'em! Since we spent our morning with the Princesses, we beelined to Mickey and boy was he sweet:
(Seriously...take me back!!)
Grammy even got Wesley to give Mickey a smile and a high-five- it was a miracle:
Next up, we met Pluto and the kids had fun giving him high-fives:
Next up, we headed to Critter Country; which was a first for all of us. The kids loved it and had so much fun on The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh:
After the ride, Tenley kept asking, "but why does Pooh like Honey so much, Mommy?" She was obsessed with knowing and when she saw the characters off to the side she had to go meet them! We got in line to meet Tigger, Rabbit and Pooh, but Rabbit had to leave for a carrot break and we met Eeyore instead. Ev was absolutely fascinated with Tigger and kept giggling and touching his nose:
Tenley didn't understand why Eeyore was so sad and kept giving him kisses and hugs to cheer him up. She asked if he was all better and he nodded his head 'yes'. I mean, how could you not feel better with hugs from these girls:
Finally, Tenley ran to Pooh and was so funny...first she asked why he loved honey so much to which he pointed to his heart then his belly. Then, she asked if he had a belly ache and he shook his head 'no'. Lastly, she pointed to his shirt and said, "I love your red shirt!" She was so funny and is now officially obsessed with everything Winnie the Pooh:
Next up, we headed back to California Adventure to catch the Pixar Parade. We were a few minutes early so we got to relax in the shade for a bit first:
The parade was a first for all of us so I'm glad we saw it because it was so good! Ev loves Toy Story and Wes loves Cars so they really enjoyed this parade. Everyone loved the bubbles that filled the air, too. It was amazing, as usual:
The parade exhausted Wes so he napped while we grabbed a bite to eat:
After dinner we went to Ride Makerz so Wes could make his first remote control car. Wes tested some cars out, but settled on Lightening McQueen. Tenley took over after that because she was "in charge of accessories":
The kids were getting sleepy and we still had awhile before The World of Color so we got the kids ice cream cones from Ghirardelli to give them some energy:
All the kids made it through the entire show and it was phenomenal. We got to see the entire thing this time and I was really blown away by the Pirates of the Carribean song (I wish I would've filmed that one cause the fire was crazy!). I'd have to say this is my favorite show out of both the parks:
Disneyland closed early that night to test run their 60th Anniversary firework display so on our walk back to our hotel we got to watch the whole thing and it was spectacular. Everything from the music, to the colors was over the top! We didn't know we were going to see this, but I'm sure glad we did because the kids were actually awake for these fireworks and they were way better than the ones on Sunday.
This was by far the best day we've ever had at Disneyland & California Adventure! We did so much and saw so many new things with the kids all while having so much fun. This truly is The Happiest Place on Earth!
One more day left! Stay tuned...
