The kids and I went to Target to buy some things for Tenley's upcoming recital pictures. Tenley was so excited about the ruby red lipstick she picked that she couldn't wait to get home and try it out. Since I never wore red lipstick before, a trial run was definitely necessary, but I didn't do too bad and Tenley was in Heaven:
As I prepped chicken in the crock pot the kiddos disappeared and I found them chillin' in my bed:
The kids were just OFF. THE. RAILS. and Ev was on a whole other level of moody so we ventured out in the blaring heat for a wagon ride, but our little roamer wasn't even happy in the wagon. The only thing that made Ev happy on our walk was letting her walk at her own pace and smelling some flowers along the way:
The kids got some new moccs and since they're obsessed with shoes they were running all over the house in them. Thank goodness they were brand spankin' new because the babes insisted on climbing all over the bed while I attempted to make it:
The Rice gals came over Tuesday morning and I passed down Wes and Ev's black and steel moccs to baby Sailor. Wes was totally checking Sailor out in them, too. I mean, she looked adorable!! Wes and Sailor are totally an item. The way they look at each other is the cutest:
(His face and those thighs...I just can't.)
All of that flirting really tired Wes out:
Ev joined Tenley and I on the couch, while Wes continued to nap. I tried to secretively tape Tenley talk our ears off about the Disney Princesses, especially her new favorite Princess, Aurora (you'll have to watch the video to see why). People don't understand why I say she is nuts, but just watch this video and you'll see...girlfriend is so energetic and there's a sweet little surprise at the end:
The kids and I had an early morning watermelon picnic outside and it was such a great morning. Wes and Ev carried their watermelon everywhere, dragged it through everything and still thought it was just as delicious. After our snack the babes had a blast blowing bubbles, while Tenley drew "the Dinneylan hotel" on the back wall:
We were all covered in watermelon juice, bubbles, chalk and sweat. You know you've had a good morning when you need to go inside for a bath at 9:30am. We had lunch and the twins were napping by 11am:
Of course, after an ah-mazing day comes an awful day. Wes woke up at 3:30am on Thursday and nothing I did made him happy. He was not having it and after being up for so many hours with him being so cranky I just couldn't deal anymore. It was an awful morning. Luckily, Tenley was on her A-game and tried her best to cheer up Wes for me. She kept hugging him and telling him it was going to be alright:
Ok, I'm not one for taking pics of my kids crying, but look guys, it ain't always pretty around here:
The twins took quick naps so we continued relaxing by watching their favorite movie, Winnie the Pooh, while Tenley "relaxed" in her room:
(Look at Ev's rat tail!)
Ev and Wes got into a bit of a mashed potato fight during dinner time:
The Venturino girls came over Friday morning and Tenley couldn't have been happier to see Sofia. They both happened to have on maxi dresses and looked so beautiful!! I just can't believe how big our girls our getting:
We caught Wes and Alena hanging out in Tenley's bed and had a good laugh about that:
The twins slept for 3 hours after our play date...SCORE! When they woke up they decorated Daddy's Father's Day card with Mickey Mouse stickers:
Tenley had recital pictures Friday night and we had so much fun getting ready. She is such a girly girl so she was in her element while I did her makeup. She was all, "can you put eyeshadow on me, Mommy?", "can I do my own lipstick?" and "when can we put in my Rapunzel hair?" We kept giggling and I kept getting flashbacks of doing things like this with my mom for school dances. Tenley looked beautiful and I couldn't believe how grown-up she looked. I tried to snap some pics before we walked into the building, but she was too excited because she thought she was going to dance on stage:
As soon as Tenley saw Isla she began to smile and giggle for me so I got some pics. Seeing these two laugh together absolutely melts my heart. I can't wait to see them perform on stage together; I'm so proud of them! Such beautiful girls, inside and out:
We were back at the dance studio for our regular class Saturday morning:
Tenley and I ran some quick errands after dance since the twins were at home due to runny noses. Little Miss Thang insisted on sporting her "shades" just like Mommy:
Tenley was excited to give Daddy his beer bottle opener that said 'BEST DAD EVER.' because "I just love accessories!!":
Since we hadn't been to the Bellagio Conservatory in awhile we went there Sunday morning to see the Summer Garden and it was an amazing 'Under the Sea' type of theme. There wasn't as many flowers as usual, but the kids loved it and, of course, Tenley thought Ariel was in the water so she was fascinated. The Bellagio's Botanical Garden never disappoints:
The twins cuddled extra close to Daddy for Father's Day and made him feel extra special:
We made a delicious dinner consisting for barbecued ribs, baked potatoes and corn; however Ev and Wes threw it all over the floor and were only interested in actually eating off the floor. They're seriously so weird:
Since their noses weren't running horribly we decided to go to Cowabunga Bay to cool off with some dole whips and lazy river action. Tenley wanted to "swim" so we were in the water the whole time; which had us all pretty tired:
I think it's safe to say that Ed had a great Father's Day. The kids made him feel very loved; which they tend to do most days since he's such a great guy. I don't really know how to put into words how greatly he's appreciated around here because he does so much for our family. We all kind of think we lucked out with the best guy to say is ours forever, so thanks for being the bees knees, Ed! We love you to the moon and back!
Hope everyone had a great Father's Day! :)
