The Cavs played the Bulls on Monday so the kids sported their new Cavs gear that Grammy and Pop Pop sent them. Tenley and I wanted to send Isla a picture of her new shirt so I said, "put your finger like this and yell 'number one!!'" and she said, "no number eight!" and did this:
The kiddos were decked out and anxious for the game (too bad we lost!!):
(Thanks Grammy and Pop Pop!! Go Cavs!!)
On Tuesday the twins rocked the coolest jammies, but my girly girl, Ev, wasn't too sure about the boy Ninja Turtle pajamas:
Before school on Wednesday, Tenley finished up her gifts for her teachers for teacher appreciation week- KitKat bars that said "You Deserve A Break". When Mrs. Marsha got her out of the car she handed them to her and I had to nudge her a little, but she said "thanks for being such an awesome teacher, Mrs. Marsha." She was so shy, but excited about her gifts:
While Tenley was at school, I took the twins to McCullough Vista Park and they had so much fun being the center of my attention and having the park to themselves for once:
Although Tenley has been telling me that she has been making me a "surprise Mother's Day gift" at school I was still very excited when she gave me this card. Inside was a beautiful pink heart keychain with her thumbprint on it. Everyday she amazes me and is such a beautiful girl, inside and out. I'm so lucky to be her mommy:
We played outside Thursday morning and the kids had fun drawing on the back wall and Tenley finally figured out how to ride her trike (too bad I think she has outgrown it now!):
My babies woke up as 16 month olds on Friday:
I can't believe my last babies are getting so big. I savor every milestone because it is so bittersweet to me. Just this week Ev is looking so much bigger:
I starred at the babes extra long after putting them down for a nap:
Once the twins woke up from their naps, they played in Tenley's room. Tenley tried putting Evie down for another nap, while Wes jumped on the bed:
Ev and Wes are obsessed with baby dolls. They're always pushing them around in the stroller and carrying them around the house:
When I told them to kiss their babies they went in to kiss each other:
Watching them play with their babies just cracks me up:
Tenley's dance class practiced their recital routine and Isla and Tenley decided that mid-way through the routine was the perfect time to start up a convo:
(I can already hear teenage Tenley coming home from school telling me how her and Isla got split up in class from giggling too much. I seriously can't stand how adorable they are!)
Miss Cherrity split the class up to practice; which really helped because they tried hard to impress their mini "audience". The girls were such great audience members first, then really showed improvement when it was their time to shine:
Then, they practiced backhandsprings and for some reason our little daredevil is really terrified of these, but this was the first time she followed through and did it. I'm so proud of these chicks:
Wes loves going to Tenley's dance class because he gets to see his girlfriend- Sailor Rose. She was sleeping for a good portion of it, but as soon as the babies saw her feet squirming they ran over to her car seat and made Linds take her out and Wes was the first to give her some lovins:
(Save the date, guys...Wesley and Sailor 2040)
Ed went grocery shopping while I put the kids down for naps. I got to relax while he was gone and when he came home Tenley helped him with the groceries and she came walking around the corner with these beautiful roses and shouted, "HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!":
Ed also made me one of my favorite soups- chicken and gnocchi soup in a bread bowl (with riesling, of course):
After I showered, I walked into the playroom and Tenley whispered to me, "I signed your Valentime's-Mother's Day card!" and I said, "oh yeah?!" and she said, "and I got your gift in my room, too!" Ed and I were cracking up. She sure can't keep a secret, but she sure is the sweetest little thing:
We have a BIG week coming up, so I just wanted to take it easy on Mother's day since I knew our upcoming week was going to be pretty hectic. The only thing I had on my agenda was having fun with the kids. We started the day by playing in the backyard before we decided to walk to the park:
The park really tired the twins out. Once I put them down for a nap, I went to get a mani/pedi while I watched the Cavs game (sounds like Heaven, right?):
As soon as I got home I sat down to watch the game and the babies came running to me like magnets for their milk fix. Ed tried helping by handing me a baby and stepped on my toes; which ruined my fresh pedicure:
Luckily, I was able to go back and get it fixed after I watched Lebron win the game for the Cavs. Talk about the mother of all Mother's Day gifts!
After getting my nails fixed, I came home to delicious beef stew that Ed had cooking, per my request. I don't usually get this much free-time and pampering, but Ed really made me feel so, SO special this weekend. He bought me a wooden plaque for the house that says, "the most precious jewels you'll ever have around your neck are the arms of your children" and it is so true. We are so blessed with the most amazing children and I had the best weekend being spoiled with their love. I'm also blessed with the most amazing mom who has always been my best friend and biggest supporter. My mother-in-law has also been such a blessing to have in my life and I've learned so much from her. Having such amazing moms, grandmas, aunts, sister-in-laws and friends with children in my life has made being a mom such a fun experience. I'm very fortunate that Ed works so hard that I get to call motherhood my "full-time job". We both make sacrifices so I can do it, but it's nothing compared to the rewards. I don't know what I'd do without Ed by my side through this journey. Thanks for making my Mother's Day weekend so special, Ed! I love you!
Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day!
Until next week! :)
